Band released two albums in the early seventies before disbanding in 1972 (due to poor sales of their second album, Mercury Records decided to cancel a contract with the band). Five years later the band began recording sessions for a projected third LP but the material was shelved. This material was later used for third album in 2006.

Name "Sir Lord Baltimore" was given to band by Mike Appel, who also helped the band sign with Mercury Records.
